The new roommaster Printing Solution is a new printing approach through the API Integration platform to replace the existing roommaster printing functionality. The new roommaster Printing solution is cloud-based, faster, more reliable, and doesn’t rely on the cloud ports, so it wouldn’t cause the previously encountered printing intermittent issues.
Below are the detailed steps that need to be followed to get the new printing approach installed and ready to be used.
Step #1: Updating the RMC Printing Configuration Option:
- When a property decides to get onboarded with the roommaster API receipt printing integration, the first step is to configure this property’s PMS to use the roommaster API Printing Integration, instead of the standard printing technique.
- This step is done once per property (regardless of the number of workstations that will use the printing integration within this property)
- To do so:
- Open the property’s PMS.
- Navigate to SETUP > Configuration > System > Advanced Options and Settings
- Set the value of the “Use Enhanced Special Printer” configuration option to Yes:
The above step is done once per property, but all the next steps need to be done on each workstation.
Step#2: roommaster API Printing Solution MSI File Installation:
The roommaster API printing solution MSI file installation is straightforward.

Just make sure Everyone is selected instead of Just me whenever prompted:
After the MSI file is installed:
- An installation folder named “roommaster Printing Solution ” will be placed under the C:\Program Files (x86) directory:
- A Windows service called “roommasterPrintingService ” will be created and its Startup Type will be set to “Automatic”. If the service Status is not set automatically to Running after the installation, make sure to run the service from the left hand side “start” option:
Step #3: Adding a new Printer Device:
- Open the C:\Program Files (x86)\roommaster Printing Solution installation folder.
- Open the Configuration Handler sub-folder.
- Double-click the AppSettingDownloader.exe file:
- A new pop-up window will appear. Values for the first 3 fields must be provided as follows:
- Printer Friendly Name: This should be a descriptive printer name that relates to the workstation that this printer is connected to. The printer friendly name should be unique across all workstations within the same hotel.

Printer System Name: This should match the name of the printer device that appears when opening the “Printers and Scanners” option in Windows. In the Example below, the connected receipt printer name is EPSON:

Property Id: The PMS ID of the property (which appears at the bottom of the screen when opening the hotel’s roommaster Cloud portal). In the example below, the property Id is AGORASANDBOX (which is used only for testing purposes):
- Click on the Download Config File button.
- When the device addition operation completes successfully, the user will receive a successful message:
- A new pop-up window will appear. Values for the first 3 fields must be provided as follows:
Step #4: Selecting the required printer device in RMC:
After the printer device is added through the tool, it needs to be selected in the workstation’s RMC instance, so that the workstation can use this device in printing receipts.
The printer selection inside RMC is a per-workstation setting, not a global one.
To select the required printer device:
- Open the property’s PMS instance on the targeted workstation.
- Navigate to SETUP > Configuration > Guest Ledger.
- Click the Special Receipts button:

- Under the Agora print settings option, select the needed Agora printer:
Note:
- "Agora" is the name of the API integration platform/middleware that handles the printing integration with roommaster Cloud.
- The Agora printer list lists all the printers that were added to the property’s PMS instance, from all the connected workstations.
Step #5: Executing the printing operations:
Once the printer device is added and well-configured inside the PMS instance of the needed workstation, the hotel staff can start using the printing integration normally, to print receipts or reprint Visa/MasterCard transactions from these workstations:
