The following transaction types can be displayed within both the Open Transactions and Submitted Batches pages.
| TRAN CODE | VERBOSE NAME | DEFINITION |
| AUTH | Authorization Only | Authorizes a card for a monetary amount but does not capture the transaction for settlement. Used when the final amount of the transaction is unknown (for example, tip adjustments). |
| CPTR | Transaction Capture | Closes a transaction to the gateway and marks it for settlement. Generally used in conjunction with an AUTH; however, it can be used separately for Voice Authorizations. |
| INCR | Incremental Authorization | Increments the authorization from an original authorization. Used when the initial authorization was insufficient. |
| RETN | Return | Credits monies back to a card account. Credits may be the full amount of the original sale or a portion thereof. |
| REVF | Full Reversal | Reverses the full amount of the transaction authorization. Used in cases where there is a change of tender or a mistake. All transaction authorizations that are not settled must be reversed. |
| REVP | Partial Reversal | Reverses a partial amount of authorization from a previously authorized transaction. Used in cases where a transaction was over-authorized and the final amount was less than the original authorized amount. |
| SALE | Sale | Combines an AUTH and CPTR in one transaction. Generally used where the final amount of the sale is known at the time of tender. |
| VOID | Void | Voids a transaction at the gateway prior to its settlement. |
