Occupancy Forecast Report – roommaster

The forecast reports gives you a view of your occupancy status. The longer you use roomMaster, the more accurate the system can report forecasted walk-in's and future reservations.

Forecast Type

Seasonal roomMaster will look at the same group of months last year to determine what may happen this year. The group of months are Dec, Jan, Feb - Mar, Apr, May - Jun, Jul, Aug - Sep, Oct, Nov

Last Month roomMaster will use last month's data to determine what may happen this month.

Current Month roomMaster will use this month's last year data to determine what may happen this month.

Daily Analysis

Day of Week roomMaster will always compare the same day of week only to determine what will happen. For example, for Monday, the system will only use data collected on Monday's

Avg All Days roomMaster will use all seven days a week and then calculate the average to determine what will happen each day. The same data will appear each day of the week when printing out the forecast.

Weekday/end roomMaster will use and average for Monday through Thursday for determine weekday statistics and Friday through Sunday to determine weekend statistics.

Exact Day roomMaster will compare to exact day when using Last Month or Current Month report.

Example: * If Current Month Last Year/Exact Day is selected, roomMaster will compare 7/4/99 and 7/4/98.

If Last Month/Exact Day is selected, roomMaster will compare 5/5/98 and 4/5/98
If Seasonal/Avg All Days is selected, roomMaster will compare 7/5/99 with an average of Jun/Jul/Aug 98
If Seasonal/Weekday & Weekend is selected, roomMaster will compare 7/5/99 with all weekdays Jun/Jul/Aug 98 since 7/5/99 is a weekday

Common selections would be Last Month/Weekday & Weekend -or- Current Month Last Year/Exact Day

Please note that Seasonal Forecast will not work properly if you have not used the system for at least one years time. In addition, Last Month forecast will not work if you have not used the system for at least two months. You can however execute the report to show what actually has been booked so far.
