Manual Entry
With the reservation properties “Other Information” tab you are able to add a credit card to the record without charging it by clicking the gray box next to “Number.”
This will activate the “Credit Card Information” screen where you can enter the card information, clicking “Submit” to save.
Once the card is saved on file it can be used later for future authorizations & payments.
Preferred Manual Entry Methods
To make use of AVS and/or CVV when processing a manually entered CC, it is recommended to charge a deposit or authorization on the credit card and enter the number durign the process. This will make use of the additional authentication and tokenize the card in one step.
Tokenization – Backend Info
The “roomMaster Payments Token Request” screen is a direct link into the Payment Gateway. Anything entered here is secure and remains outside of the roomMaster software. Once a card is submitted from the screen it is converted to a secure encrypted token that is transferred into roomMaster.
roomMaster then references the token whenever a authorization or payment is required keeping your database out of PCI Scope.
Additional Entry and Token Storage
The Credit Card Information window may also be activated to allow for manual entry from most credit card fields within roomMaster in addition to the Credit Card Interface window where you can activate the PinPad to use the EMV device or click the Card # field to manually enter a card.
When additional credit cards are manually entered this way, the token information
will be stored and listed under MORE OPTIONS > MORE NAMES. An entry will be
listed for CREDIT CARD TOKEN to identify the record as the token. This is what is
used later to help the user select which card to use.
